MANSFIELD, MA – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its end-of-season award winners on Thursday afternoon, including its All-Conference Teams. The University of New Haven saw six of its players named to an All-Conference Team.
Michael Gatti (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) was the only Charger named to the First Team following a season in which he pitched to a 3.00 ERA and compiled a 3-1 record in nine games, eight of which were starts. Gatti struck out 62 batters in 45 innings opposed to only 15 walks. The junior's best outing came on Mar. 23 against St. Michael's when he hurled seven shutout innings and fanned 10.
Casey Cerruto (Torrington, Conn./St. Paul Catholic), following his recognition as team MVP, was named to the Second Team along with Liam Carroll (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) and Randy Ramnarace (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood). This season marks the first time Cerruto and Ramnarace have made All-Conference Teams while Carroll has made the NE10 Second Team for the third consecutive year.
Kenny Franquiz and Mason Glickman (Windsor, Conn./Windsor) were both selected to the NE10 Third Team. Both players make their debut on an All-Conference Team following career years. Franquiz batted .356 across 30 games and finished with an elite .915 OPS. Glickman posted a 2.16 ERA over nine appearances (three starts) and struck out 29 over 33.1 innings.
