Spencer Jenney joined the University of New Haven men's basketball program as an assistant coach in August 2025.
Jenney comes to New Haven after spending the last two seasons on staff at Cleveland State University as a graduate assistant.
Jenney joined Daniyal Robinson's staff at Cleveland State in 2023, winning over 21 games in back-to-back seasons and reaching the CBI both years. In his 2 seasons with the Vikings, Jenney worked closely with and helped develop current Cleveland Cavalier, Tristan Enaruna, as well as All-Horizon League players Tevin Smith, Dylan Arnett, and Tahj Staveskie.
Prior to his time at Cleveland State, Jenney spent one year on Micah Shrewsberry's staff at Penn State University as a student manager. In the 2022-23 season, Jenney helped the Nittany Lions to the Big Ten Tournament Final and the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. Jenney was also involved in the development of NBA Draft pick and current Denver Nugget, Jalen Pickett, as well as NBA G-League standouts, Seth Lundy and Andrew Funk.
During his time with both programs, his responsibilities included film analysis, player development, and recruiting assistance.
Jenney earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Penn State University in 2023. He later received his master's degree in sport management from Cleveland State University in 2025.
