SMITHFIELD, R.I. - New Haven Volleyball faced a tough battle against Bryant University on Tuesday night, where it fell short 3-0.
The Chargers came out strong in the first set, where they tied the score twice against the Bulldogs. The Chargers had its match-high of nine kills on the set. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs came out on top 25-23. Bryant kept the momentum and defeated the Chargers 25-11 in the second set. New Haven tried to make a comeback in the third set, tying the score four times and taking the lead once, but the Chargers lost 25-15. Some highlights included
Caroline Johnston (Noelnsville, TN) having three aces in a row with a total of five aces in the match and 11 digs, and
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) having four blocks and four kills.
Payton Malinoski (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) also contributed with nine digs.
New Haven is heading to North Easton, Mass. to face the Stonehill Skyhawks on Sept. 26
