WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The NEC announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday, with New Haven Volleyball's
Payton Malinoski (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) taking home NEC Defensive Player of the Week. Malinoski and
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) were also both named Prime Performers.
Malnoski, a sophomore libero, played in all four matches, totaling 15 sets played, 23 assists, seven service aces, and 61 digs.
Grannell also appeared on the weekly award list as a Prime Performer following a week in which the grad student played in 16 sets and registered 32 kills, 21 block assists, four solo blocks, and 46.5 points.
New Haven will be back on the road Tuesday, Sept. 9th, to face Providence College in Rhode Island at 6:00 p.m.
