New Haven Falls to Quinnipiac in Midweek Matchup

WEST HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven Baseball (6-26, 5-13) suffered a decisive 13-0 loss to Quinnipiac (17-21, 9-9) on Tuesday at home. Despite managing six hits, the Chargers failed to score, while Quinnipiac capitalized early with a five-run first inning and added seven more in the sixth.

Quinnipiac took an early lead, scoring five runs in the first inning. The sixth inning saw Quinnipiac break the game open with seven runs, bringing the score to 13-0 in favor of Quinnipiac.

New Haven managed to put runners on base in several innings but was unable to capitalize on those opportunities to score. The game concluded with Quinnipiac securing a 13-0 victory.

Mason Glickman (Windsor, Conn./Windsor) started the game for the Chargers, pitching five innings and allowing six runs on six hits while striking out two batters. Kaleb Martinek followed, struggling in his brief appearance by allowing six runs on two hits in just 1/3 inning. Vincent Fusco (Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay East Fishkill) closed the game, giving up one run on two hits.

Looking ahead, the Blue & Gold will travel to face Central Connecticut State University at 1 p.m. Friday, April 24 in New Britain, Conn.
