WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Lacrosse has achieved remarkable academic success, earning recognition on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2025-26 academic year. This prestigious honor celebrates the exceptional academic accomplishments of both individual student-athletes and the team as a whole.

The team boasts an impressive collective GPA of 3.72, reflecting their dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. The following 11 student-athletes have been individually recognized on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll: Corrie Bartos (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central), Elyssa Bower (Aldie, Va./John Champe), Summer Castiglione (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial), Shauna Curran (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba Regional), Caroline D'Angelo (Danbury, Conn./Danbury), Helena Dunwoody (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich), Juliet Legassa (Burlington, Conn.), Caitlin Seleny (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton), Lucy Shafer (Haymarket, Va./Battfleield), Ava Tucker (Millis, Mass./Medway), and Ashleigh Wetzel (Plainview, N.Y./St. Anthony). These honorees, comprised of both graduate and undergraduate students, exemplify the commitment and hard work required to excel academically while maintaining rigorous athletic commitments.

The designation as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad further underscores the team's collective commitment to academic excellence, showcasing a team culture that values both scholastic and athletic achievement.

First-year head coach Kathelene Kim's program has now seen a pair of players earn recognition from the CSC as Academic All-District when it was announced that Dunwoody and Sophia Minnion (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) had both earned that title, 32 student-athletes named to the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, with 14 named to the NEC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll, and the program as a whole win the NEC Women's Lacrosse Team GPA Award in its first year of competition.
