NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Continuing the 2026 season, the University of New Haven Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Massachusetts to compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, a deep field with teams from all three NCAA divisions. The men's team placed 18th, and the women's team placed 19th.
On the men's side,
Connor Knee (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) led the charge for the Blue & Gold, finishing in 57th place overall. He ran the 8K race in 26:01.01.
Thomas Conklin (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall) was the next Charger to cross the finish line. His final time was 27:05.41, good enough for 117th overall.
Alex Vaquerano (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell) came in 125th place with a time of 27:17.46. Knee, Conklin, and Vaquerano round out the top three finishes for the Chargers.
For the women's 6K race,
Josie Thompson (Towson, Md./Carver Center for Arts & Technology) led the Chargers, finishing 68th overall with a time of 23:19.82.
Daniela Bacigalupo (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) was the next Charger across the line, placing 87th overall in 23:40.57.
Bernadette Karpel (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) rounded out the Chargers' top three, finishing 130th overall with a time of 24:56.52.
The Chargers return to action on Oct. 9 at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championships in Hopkinton, N.H.
