RINDGE, N.H. - The University of New Haven women's basketball team fell 68-79 Tuesday night at Franklin Pierce University in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship tournament quarterfinals. The Chargers' conclude the season with the loss and finish with a 14-15 overall record. The top seeded and nationally ranked No. 2 Ravens advance to the semifinals on Friday.
The Ravens didn't waste any time to take a lead on Tuesday, jumping out to a 20-2 lead in the first 10-minutes.
Dominique Stellmacher (New Britain, Conn./New Britain ) hit a jumper to break the Ravens streak with 9:51 left in the first half and helped to jump start the UNH offense.
Jasmine Hardy (Meriden, N.H./Lebanon) hit a three pointer with 2:31 left in the half to finish a 14-4 UNH run, closing the Ravens' lead to four, 26-22. Franklin Pierce managed to improve its lead to six points, 31-25, at halftime.
The second half was much for consistent, with the Ravens holding a comfortable lead for most of the half. The Chargers kept the Ravens within 10 points for a majority of the first 10-minutes, but the Ravens eventually took a double figure lead at the 10:49 mark. After Franklin Pierce led by as many as 16 points, the Chargers cut the lead to nine points, 68-77, in the final minute. A pair of FPU free throws sealed the 11-point lead for the Ravens.
The Chargers struggled shooting the ball Tuesday night hitting just 26-of-69 shots (37.7 percent). UNH also struggled from the foul line, going 9-for-17 from the charity stripe. New Haven recorded 28 fouls and 21 turnovers.

Yasmin Ithier-Vicenty (Newington, Conn./Newington) led the Chargers in the loss with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Stellmacher added eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. In the final game of her collegiate career, senior
Helin Marte (Woodhaven, N.Y./Richmond Hill ) scored five points, grabbed four rebounds and added nine assists.
The Chargers conclude the season with a 14-15 record and their second-straight trip to the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals. The Chargers earned the eighth seed and defeated Southern Connecticut State University in the opening round.
