Chargers Open Thursday at Molloy

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's lacrosse team, ranked No. 9 in the most recently IWLCA Division II National Poll, kicks off the 2012 season on Thursday, March 8 when it travels to Molloy College. Head coach Jen Fallon enters her sixth season guiding the Chargers who are coming off their third 10-win season under Fallon's leadership. The Chargers look to continue their postseason success in 2012.

The team returns 11-of-12 starters from last year's team, including the program's second-leading point scorer Ashley Ferrandiz (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville). In her final season, Ferrandiz enters the year with 225 total points (143 goals, 82 assists).
