WEST HAVEN, Conn. – University of New Haven Associate Vice President, Director of Athletics and Recreation Deborah Chin announced the resignation of head men’s soccer coach Josh Krusewski today.
“Josh has built the men’s soccer program and developed well-rounded student-athletes over the last five years at New Haven,” said Chin. “I thank him for his commitment to Charger Athletics and wish him all the best in his future endevors.”
Krusewski served as head men’s soccer coach for five seasons from 2007 to 2011. He posted a 23-60-5 record, including a career-best seven wins in 2010. During Krusewski’s tenure, the Chargers made their first postseason appearance since 2006 and only their second since recorded the program’s most wins since 2002.
“I want to thank Debbie and the University of New Haven for the opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a head coach,” said Krusewski. “I’ve enjoyed my time at New Haven and wish all the best to the Chargers in the future.”
Prior to coming to UNH, Krusewski had been an assistant coach in Connecticut for the previous six years, including a stint as the lead assistant coach for Southern Connecticut State University from 2004-2006. He was an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut from 2001-04.
Krusewski will be pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities. A search to find his replacement will begin immediately.
