WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team used a balanced attack to dispatch visiting Pace in straight sets on Tuesday evening at Charger Gymnasium. Kaulana Ane (Paia, Hawai'i/Kamehameha) recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 11 digs.

With their fifth-consecutive win, the Chargers improve to 17-4 overall and remain unbeaten at 8-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Setters fall to 4-21 with an 0-9 NE-10 mark. New Haven took the decision by set scores of 31-29, 25-19 and 25-14.

Amber Cannady (Yonkers, N.Y./Charles E. Gorton), Ashley Dalton (Helena, Mont./Capital / Northern Arizona University) and Kristen Lee (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) led the New Haven offense with eight kills apiece. Lee hit .364 on the outside and did not commit an error on her 22 swings, while Dalton posted a .375 hitting percentage (8-2-16) from the middle. Â Margo Meteyer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) added six kills. Ane doled out 30 assists en route to her 10th double-double of the fall.

Defensively, Kea-Marie Olaso (Kailua, Hawai'i/Le Jardin Academy) led the back row with 14 digs. In addition to Ane's 11 from the back row, Lee posted nine digs and Meteyer had six. The Chargers dominated the net with 11 team blocks. Cannady had a hand in nine rejections with Ane getting a piece of five blocks.

Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) landed five service aces – including four during a 12-0 run in set three that put the match away – as New Haven dropped in nine winners in total. Olaso picked up a pair of aces with one each from Meghan Kennelly (Detroit, Mich./Eisenhower) and Ashley Gomez (El Paso, Texas/Ysleta).

Kayla Witwer led the Setters with a match-high nine kills. Miki Carver doled out 20 assists, and libero Rebecca Italiano posted a match-best 15 digs.

The first set was the closest of the three, with the Chargers taking a 31-29 decision. Each team fought off three set points before Cannady and Ane teamed up for a block to give New Haven a 1-0 advantage in the match.

New Haven would break a 19-19 deadlock with the final six points of set two to claim that stanza, 25-19, and surged to victory behind a 12-0 run in the third frame. The stretch included four service aces from Hacker and three Cannady blocks as the Chargers closed out the sweep with a 25-14 triumph.
