New Haven Volleyball Announces Schedule for 2026 Season

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Entering her first season at the helm of New Haven Volleyball, head coach Melanie Green has announced her team's 2026 schedule. Before the start of NEC play, the Blue & Gold will play in multiple tournaments across the Northeast. 

The first serve of the 2026 season is scheduled for Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m. against New Hampshire in the Holly Young Invitational. New Haven will also see Providence and St. Peter's in opening weekend. To follow, the Blue & Gold have their first home match against Holy Cross. The home opener at The Hazell Center is scheduled for Sep. 1 at 6:00 p.m.

New Haven continues with tournament play with a series of away matches. They travel first to Delaware to partake in the Blue Hen Invitational, also featuring Fordham, starting on Sep. 5. The following week, the Blue & Gold will travel to Binghamton, N.Y. to compete in the Binghamton Invitational, visiting the host Bearcats, Cornell Big Red, and the Temple Owls. Finally, wrapping up invitationals, the team will head south to NJIT for a series of matches at the NJIT Invitational against NJIT, Iona, and Seton Hall. Those matches are scheduled to begin Sep. 18 at 12:00 p.m.

The Blue & Gold have two more non-conference matches against Coppin State (Sep. 20) and Marist (Sep. 23). They will play Coppin State at home and Marist away in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

For the rest of the season, the Chargers will focus on NEC play. The first NEC series will be against Central Connecticut at the Hazell Center. That series is scheduled for Oct. 2 at 6:00 p.m., and Oct. 3 at 1:00 p.m.  

New Haven then goes on the road for two weekends in a row. They travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to play a series at Le Moyne on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10. Those matches are also scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively. The following week, they stay in the Empire State to compete against last season's conference champions, LIU. The series against the Sharks is scheduled for Oct. 16 (6:00 p.m.) and Oct. 17 (1:00 p.m.). 

The Blue & Gold return home to the Hazell Center for two NEC series against Stonehill and Mercyhurst. First serve against Stonehill is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 23, and the following match will be played the next day, Oct. 24, at 1:00 p.m. The following week, the Chargers will play Mercyhurst on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31.

To start November and the final month of the season, the Chargers travel to FDU to take on the Knights on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7. Those matches are also scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The Chargers take on Chicago State Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 for the final regular-season series of the year. Those matches are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
