Opening Tip
The University of New Haven continues Northeast-10 Southwest Division action with a Saturday trip to Pace. The Chargers and Setters are both 0-1 in NE-10 play following Wednesday evening setbacks.

Chargers' Last Time Out
New Haven was unable to overcome a hot-shooting Le Moyne team on Wednesday as the visiting Dolphins came away with a 79-71 decision.

Justin Exum shot 6-for-9 from the floor, including two three-pointers on four attempts, and knocked down all four of his free throws to rack up a team-high 18 points

Cyrus James added 14 points and nine rebounds, and Jemal Mosley scored 12 points in 25 minutes off the New Haven bench.

As a unit, the Chargers shot 26-for-60 (43.3 percent) from the field, 5-for-17 (19.4 percent) from distance and 14-for-17 (82.4 percent) from the free throw line.

Ashanti DePass notched nine points and Eric Anderson chipped in with five points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Le Moyne went 31-for-52 (59.6 percent) from the floor and 8-for-17 (47.1 percent) from downtown, including seven of their first 10 attempts from three-point range. The Dolphins added nine free throws on 11 attempts (81.8 percent).

Nate Champion had a game-best 20 points for Le Moyne.

New Haven Notes
Eric Anderson averages 16.0 points and 13.3 rebounds and has recorded two double-doubles in the 2013-14 campaign after posting 18 last winter, just one shy of the NCAA Division II leader in that category. The Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year and a Second Team All-NE-10 pick, Anderson also ranked third in nation in rebounding with 12.0 boards per game last winter.

Just three games into his junior season, Anderson has already climbed into fourth all-time at New Haven with 130 rejections. His 71 blocks in 2012-13 were the second-most in a single-season in Charger history, tied with "Dollar Bill" Jeffress' 71 stuffs and two shy of Herb Watkins' 73 rejections - both from the 1986-87 campaign.

Justin Exum scored 18 points in his season debut on Wednesday to enter the top-20 all-time at New Haven with 1,244 career tallies. He stands 383 points shy of 10th place on the career ledger.

Also among the all-time Charger greats from beyond the arc, Exum slots at second all-time in three-pointers made with 234, and his .386 shooting percentage from distance is the sixth-best in program history. He drained two triples on four attempts against Le Moyne on Wednesday. Last season, New Haven's leading scorer with 15.8 points per game knocked down the third-most triples in a season with 82 while shooting at a .432 clip from downtown.

Jeffery Adkins, Jr. is averaging 15.3 points per game to begin his final season with the Blue and Gold. Adkins, who posted 12.9 points per contest last winter, currently sits at 859 career tallies.

Adkins also ranks 11th all-time in assists at New Haven with 275 and slots at 16th in career steals with 110.

Jemal Mosley and Jonny Ocasio have immediate entered Coach Hotaling's rotation in their first seasons at New Haven. Mosley averages 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per contest, while Ocasio has tallied 4.7 points, and 1.7 boards in 14.3 minutes of work over the Chargers' first three games. Mosley is a true freshman from Spring Valley, N.Y., and Ocasio came to Charger Gymnasium as a junior most recently appearing on the court and in the classroom at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fla.

New Haven has continued two positive trends in the first three games of the season. The Chargers are committing 10.0 turnovers per game and surrendering 59.0 points per outing. UNH ranked 10th in the nation with 11.0 turnovers per game and placed 13th in Division II defensively with 61.1 points allowed per outing last winter.
