Opening Tip
The University of New Haven women's basketball team continues Northeast-10 Southwest Division play with its first road trip of the conference slate at Pace. The Chargers are seeking their first 4-0 start since the 1989-1990 campaign.

Chargers' Last Time Out
New Haven jumped out to a 12-2 lead against visiting Le Moyne and never looked back en route to a 69-54 victory on Wednesday.

With the victory, New Haven begins a season at 3-0 for the first time since 1999-2000.

Aquillin Hayes posted her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Hayes' 14 points came on 5-for-10 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.

Elizabeth Cruso (7-for-7) and Briana Bradford (6-for-6) were each perfect from the stripe as both guards tallied all 11 of their points in the second guards.

The Chargers shot 15-for-16 from the free throw line over the final 2:23 to seal the 15-point victory.

UNH outrebounded the Dolphins, 41-22. The Chargers committed 26 turnovers, due in part to Le Moyne's full-court pressure, but also burned the stretched Dolphins' defense for 11 fast-break points. New Haven forced 15 Le Moyne giveaways, converting them into 11 points. The Blue and Gold also benefited from 32 points in the paint and 22 bench points.

Scouting Pace
The Pace Setters are seeking their first win of 2013-14 after an 0-4 start. Most recently, Pace dropped its Northeast-10 opener at Saint Rose on Wednesday by a score of 58-48. The Setters and Chargers were tabbed for a third-place tie in the Southwest Division in the NE-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Pace is led by 11.0 points per game from Margo Hackett, while Yuni Sher adds 7.8 points and a team-leading 5.5 rebounds per contest.

The Setters have struggled on the boards, ceding a -18.0 rebounding margin thus far. In a non-conference clash with NE-10 opponent Assumption, the Greyhounds held a 51-27 advantage on the glass.

Last Season vs. Pace
The Chargers and Setters split the home-and-home series with the Setters last season as each club earned a road victory.

Pace scored the final nine points over the last 4:05 to escape Charger Gymnasium with a 68-64 win on Jan. 5.

The Chargers salvaged a split of the series on Feb. 10 in Pleasantville, taking a lead midway through the first half and holding off the Setters with eight three-pointers en route to a 69-59 win.

Briana Bradford scored 13.5 points per game and Bria Moore added 11.0 per contest in the Chargers' two outings against Pace last winter. New Haven drained eight three-pointers in each of the two encounters.

All-Time Series
After last season's split, the Setters hold a 19-4 advantage in an all-time series that began with a 75-72 Chargers' victory in the 1985-86 campaign.

The New Haven win in the most recent meeting between the two clubs was the Chargers' first since joining the Northeast-10 beginning in the 2008-09 season. Pace owns an 8-1 lead in NE-10 contests against New Haven.

New Haven Notes
The Chargers' 3-0 start is the first for the program since 1999-2000. New Haven last began a campaign with four wins in 1989-90, claiming its first six of the season. The Blue and Gold are 2-0 in the conference for the second consecutive year and have not won their first three NE-10 games since 2009-10.

Aquillin Hayes' double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) against Le Moyne was her first of the season after notching a team-best seven double-doubles in 2012-13. Ashley LeBlanc also had a pair of double-doubles last winter.

After matching her career high with 23 points at Dominican on Nov. 9, Briana Bradford established a new personal standard with 24 tallies in the Nov. 13 win over Saint Rose. Bradford also knocked down a career-best five three-pointers against the Golden Knights.

Bradford's 2012-13 All-Rookie Team distinction marked the third straight season that a Charger earned a spot alongside the NE-10's top freshmen, following 2011-12 Rookie of the Year Bria Moore and 2010-11 All-Rookie selection Anh-Dao Tran.

Prior to the season-opening win at Dominican, New Haven last played an overtime game on Jan. 2, 2011 at crosstown and Northeast-10 rival Southern Connecticut State (L, 60-54) and last won in an extra session on Jan. 26, 2010 at Southern New Hampshire (W, 67-65). The last non-conference overtime game for the Blue and Gold also came at Dominican - an 84-79 victory on Jan. 8, 2009.

Up Next
The Chargers five-game swing away from Charger Gymnasium continues with an NE-10 Southwest Division contest at American International on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. The road trip also includes a two-game stretch in Florida for the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament and a meeting at Dowling, a 2012-13 NCAA National Finalist.
