Â
Chargers' Last Time Out
New Haven trimmed an 18-point second-half deficit down to just two points on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at American International, but the host Yellow Jackets pulled away late to claim a 64-55 decision.
Â
Bria Moore led the Chargers with 19 points, including four three-pointers. She scored 12 points in the second half as New Haven stormed back, and added seven rebounds and three assists.
Â
Audrey Cunningham registered 11 points off the bench, and Aquillin Hayes filled out the statsheet with seven points, 12 rebounds and five assists. As a unit, the Chargers shot 18-for-55 (32.7 percent) from the floor, 9-for-15 (60 percent) from three-point range and 10-for-22 (45.5 percent) from the free throw line.
Â
The Yellow Jackets controlled the start of the second half, jumping out to a 50-32 lead with 8:41 to go. At that point, an Elizabeth Cruso three-pointer started the Chargers on an 18-2 run over the ensuing 5:47 to cut the deficit to two points at 52-50 with 2:54 to play. However, American International would tally the next six points and drained four of its final five free throws to hold off the Blue and Gold and claim a 64-55 decision.
Â
The Chargers' 4-0 start was the team's best since the 1989-90 campaign.

New Haven Notes
After matching her career high with 23 points at Dominican on Nov. 9, Briana Bradford established a new personal standard with 24 tallies in the Nov. 13 win over Saint Rose. Bradford also knocked down a career-best five three-pointers against the Golden Knights.
Â
This season, Bradford has surpassed 20 points in three of the four games she has played en route to a team-high 19.8 points per contest. She is shooting 23-for-42 (54.8 percent) from the floor, 11-for-19 (57.9 percent) from three-point range and 22-for-25 (88 percent) from the free throw line.
Â
Bradford's 2012-13 All-Rookie Team distinction marked the third straight season that a Charger earned a spot alongside the NE-10's top freshmen, following 2011-12 Rookie of the Year Bria Moore and 2010-11 All-Rookie selection Anh-Dao Tran.
Â
Aquillin Hayes' double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) against Le Moyne was her first of the season after notching a team-best seven double-doubles in 2012-13. Ashley LeBlanc also had a pair of double-doubles last winter. Hayes averages 8.8 points and a team-leading 10.6 rebounds per game in 25.0 minutes per contest.

Two of the breakout performers this November are Elizabeth Cruso and Rykema Stone. Cruso is averaging 8.8 points per game from the perimeter, while Stone has contributed down low with 9.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Â
New Haven's 47 percent success rate from downtown has been bolstered recently. Over the last two contests, the Chargers are shooting 17-for-27 (62.9 percent) from three-point range. Individually, Briana Bradford and Bria Moore are both shooting better than 50 percent from distance this season.
Â
After committing the fewest turnovers in the NE-10 last season at 15.7 giveaways per game, New Haven has posted two outings with fewer than 10 turnovers thus far in 2013-14.
Â
The Chargers' 4-0 start was the first for the program since the 1989-90 team won its first six outings en route to the best start in program history. The Blue and Gold also begn at 3-0 in the conference for first time since 2009-10.
Â
Prior to the season-opening win at Dominican, New Haven last played an overtime game on Jan. 2, 2011 at crosstown and Northeast-10 rival Southern Connecticut State (L, 60-54) and last won in an extra session on Jan. 26, 2010 at Southern New Hampshire (W, 67-65). The last non-conference overtime game for the Blue and Gold also came at Dominican - an 84-79 victory on Jan. 8, 2009.
