Jeffery Adkins scored the 1,000th point of his career as a part of a team-high 21 points. The 33rd member of the Chargers' 1,000-Point Club also distributed nine assists against the Hawks.

Justin Exum, who ranks 13th all-time in scoring for the Chargers, reached an even 1,400 career points with 16 tallies on Wednesday.

Eric Anderson added 20 points down low with six rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals. Also in the post, Cyrus James neared a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds in addition to five blocks.

Ashanti DePass buried three three-pointers en route to 14 points as all five New Haven starters scored in double figures for the first time this season.

Overall, New Haven shot 31-for-58 (53.4 percent) from the field, 8-for-20 (40 percent) from three-point range and 13-for-17 (76.5 percent) from the free throw line.

The Chargers limited Saint Anselm to 29 second-half points to facilitate a comeback after trailing by as many as 15 points in the first frame. Had the game ended in regulation, the 70 points allowed by New Haven through 40 minutes would have been a season-best against the Hawks. Saint Anselm entered the contest leading the NE-10 in scoring with 88.8 points per game, while UNH slotted atop the NE-10 and second in Division II with 59.4 points per game allowed.

New Haven Notes
As of the most recent NCAA report (through games played Jan. 9), New Haven ranks fourth in Division II with 61.4 points per game allowed. The Chargers also slot at 12th in the nation with an opponents' field goal percentage of 38 percent and rank 17th in the NCAA with 10.2 turnovers committed per game. The Blue and Gold currently lead the Northeast-10 in all three categories.

After a team-leading 21 points on Wednesday against Saint Anselm - his sixth consecutive double-digit scoring effort - Jeffery Adkins has eclipsed 1,000 points for his career. He has also moved into eighth all-time in assists at New Haven with 319 and slots 13th in career steals with 119.

Adkins is averaging 15.2 points and a team-high 3.9 assists per contest this season while shooting 53.2 percent from the floor.

Justin Exum knocked down one three-pointer on Wednesday to improve his New Haven program record to 255 treys after recently surpassing the mark of 251 triples established by Mike Grove from 1989-93. Exum's career .379 shooting percentage from distance is the sixth-best in program history.

Exum also ranks 13th all-time in scoring at New Haven with 1,400 career points. The Chargers' leading scorer for the third straight season with 15.8 points per game, he is 227 tallies shy of the program's all-time top 10.

With Adkins joining Exum in the 33-member 1,000-Point Club at New Haven, the Chargers boast two active 1,000-point scorers for the first time since Jamaal Brooks (1,248) and Ismael Caro (1,099) shared the court in the 2003-04 campaign.

Based upon his current scoring average, Eric Anderson could also reach the 1,000-point plateau during the 2013-14 regular season. The junior has accumulated 820 total points for the Blue and Gold.

This season, Anderson averages 15.0 points and ranks second in the Northeast-10 with 11.7 rebounds per game. The reigning NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, who also tops the conference with 2.8 blocked shots per contest, is sixth in the nation on the boards and 14th in rejections. Anderson has posted nine double-doubles this season, four behind the national leader (Josh Gibbs, Central Oklahoma).

In the midst of his junior season, Anderson has climbed into fourth all-time at New Haven with 159 rejections. His 71 blocks in 2012-13 were the second-most in a single-season in Charger history, tied with Bill Jeffress' 71 blocks and two shy of Herb Watkins' 73 rejections - both from the 1986-87 campaign.

Cyrus James' first career double-double on Dec. 10 against Saint Rose consisted of 11 points and 12 rebounds. James, who also blocked three shots against the Golden Knights, shot 4-for-6 from the field and sank all three of his free throw attempts in the contest. He is New Haven's most-efficient scorer this season at 34-for-57 (59.6 percent) from the floor en route to 6.2 points to go along with 8.0 rebounds per game. James ranks ninth in the NE-10 in rebounding and places seventh in the conference with 1.4 blocks per contest.

In his first season as a member of the starting lineup for Head Coach Ted Hotaling, Ashanti DePass is netting 10.2 points per game. The senior leads the team with 25 made three-pointers while playing 32.0 minutes per outing.

During their six-game winning streak from Nov. 23 to Dec. 19, the Chargers outscored opponents by a +18.2 margin with three wins by more than 20 points. New Haven led by at least 20 points before halftime in five of the six victories with four wire-to-wire wins. Justin Exum averaged a team-best 16.2 points per game in the six outings, and the Chargers outrebounded opponents, 40.2-31.7 (+8.5), during the streak.
