Kathryn Campbell (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) had her second consecutive five point performance while Nicole Belanger (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon), Corinne Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and Alicia Busco (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) each posted a hat trick as the nationally ranked No. 8Â University of New Haven women's lacrosse team defeated the Franklin Pierce Ravens 19-6 in the final Northeast-10 Conference regular season matchup for both teams.
With the win, the Chargers finish the 2015 regular season with an overall record of 14-2 and an 11-2 mark in the NE-10.Â
Courtney Ackland (Perth, Western Australia/Churchlands) also had a strong day with two goals including the 100th of her career just over six minutes into the second half to go along with two assists.
Lindsay Lare (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) tallied a pair of goals with
Ashley Travis (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette ),
Brittany Ast (Glenwood, N.J./Vernon Township) and
Caitlin O'Brien (Branford, Conn./Branford) each burying one of their own.
Belanger was the first on the board for New Haven and followed by Lare. The Ravens quickly responded to even the score at two apiece with a pair of goals from Caitlin Sweeney. After the Blue and Gold were up a player, Fisher tallied an unassisted goal that capped a 6-1 run to take an 8-3 lead into the lockerroom.Â
Fisher continued her success when she buried her second of the day less than two minutes itno the half. UNH then went on a three goal run and closed out the game with the final five goals.Â
