MANSFIELD, Mass. – An average of 13 kills across a 2-0 week for the New Haven volleyball team led junior outside hitter
Kali Greathead (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley) to Northeast-10 Player of the Week accolades as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Greathead helped lead the Charges to back-to-back four-set wins over Pace University at home and on the road at Franklin Pierce. Against the Setters, she finished with 11 kills while capping off the week with a 15-kill effort in the win over the Ravens which also completed her third straight match in double figures.
In addition to her 11 kills against Pace, she added a dozen digs against the Setters to complete her sixth match of the season with a double double and her fourth-straight match with double figure digs. Also against the Setters she added three additional points on service aces while adding one more against the Ravens for four total on the week. Against Franklin Pierce she also finished one dig shy of another double double, finishing the evening with nine.
For the season, Greathead leads the Chargers in a pair of categories with her 174 kills and 26 service aces while she is among the leaders with 195 digs, third most on the team.
Greathead and the Chargers return to the court on Wednesday night when they will host the Adelphi Panthers in a match-up of perennial Northeast-10 leading programs. First serve from Charger Gymnasium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
