WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven head women's lacrosse coach Jen Fallon has unveiled the Chargers' schedule for the upcoming 2020 season. The 20th season in program history will feature 17 matches, including 10 at Kathy Zolad Stadium and 13 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents.

"We've worked hard to put together a non-conference schedule that will not only prepare us for conference play, but will give us the best opportunity to be considered for the NCAA tournament," Fallon said.

SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS

• The Chargers will kick off the season with three home matches, starting with Holy Family on February 29, followed by New York Tech on Saturday, March 7, and the NE10 Conference opener against Saint Anselm on March 11.
• During Spring Break, New Haven will travel to Bentley on Saturday, March 14 and Stonehill on Tuesday, March 17. The Chargers will then follow with a neutral site matchup against Slippery Rock at the U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Spark, Md. on March 21.
• New Haven will close the month of March with three straight home matches, hosting conference foes Assumption (Mar. 25) and Southern New Hampshire (Mar. 28) before a non-region clash with Alabama-Huntsville on Monday, March 30.
• New Haven will play eight games, all in conference, throughout the month of April, starting with two road games at crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State (April 1) and American International (April 3).
• Pace and Stonehill will pay visits to Zolad Stadium on April 8 and April 11, respectively.
• The Charger will hit the road for a trip to reigning conference champion, Le Moyne on Tuesday, April 14, and then continue their tour of upstate New York on Saturday, April 18 at Saint Rose.
• The regular season will conclude with a pair of home matches in late April, starting when defending national champion Adelphi comes to West Haven on April 22 for a battle under the lights at 7 p.m. The Blue and Gold will then take on Franklin Pierce at home to conclude the regular season schedule on Saturday, April 25.
• The Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, April 29, with the semifinals (May 2) and championship game (May 3) being held by the highest remaining seed.

HISTORICAL NOTES

• New Haven is coming off a 9-4 record in 2019, upending Pace in overtime of the NE10 Quarterfinals before advancing to the semifinals.
• The Chargers are 185-130 (.585) through the first 19 seasons in program history.
• Since joining the NE10 in 2009, New Haven has advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament five times, and captured the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference championship.
