OPENING TIP
The Chargers will tip off a three-game road trip to end the 2019 calendar year on Tuesday evening with a Northeast-10 Conference trip to American International, followed by a non-conference matchup at Chestnut Hill on Wednesday.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-   The Chargers and Yellow Jackets are each 20-20 all-time against each other, with New Haven having won four straight.

-   New Haven and Chestnut Hill will meet for the third time on Wednesday, with the teams having split the first two meetings. The matchups came in 2016 and 2017, with the home team winning each game.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
-   The Chargers opened the season with six of their first seven games at home, winning all six of their home games during that stretch. Flipping the script, New Haven will play six of their next seven on the road, starting with a three-game road trip.

-   New Haven's defense has been a dominating force to start the season, holding opponents to under 50 points in five games. New Haven is the only team in the NE10 holding opponents to under 50 ppg on average (49.6) and limiting their opponents to a league-low field goal percentage of .316.

-  Offensively, the Chargers are 14th in the conference, scoring 57.9 points per contest while shooting 41.0 percent from the floor (9th in NE10) and 27.0 percent (12th in NE10) from three-point range.

-     Senior Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) leads the team in both scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg). She scored 15 points for the second time this season on Saturday against Saint Rose. She had a season-high 14-rebound, five-block performance on Nov. 23 against Le Moyne. She has 12+ rebounds on two occasions this season.

-   Freshman Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) has scored double figures in five games this season, ranking sixth in the NE10 with a .565 field goal pct. She is second on the team with 11.4 ppg.

-     Brie Pergola (Torrington, Conn./Torrington) is averaging 3.7 assists per game, good for seventh in the NE10. She is also fourth in the conference in 3pt percentage at .450, while scoring 8.7 points per game.

-   Sophomore Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) has scored double figures in four games and is averaging 7.9 ppg and has 5.6 rebounds per contest.

-     Redshirt sophomore point guard Luzdali Ocasio (Davenport, Fla./New Hampton) tied her career-high with six assists against Pace, matching her career-high mark from last season at UPR-Bayamon. She ranks 9th in the NE10 with 3.6 assists per game.

A key component to the team's defense against Le Moyne, she finished with a season-high four steals and dished out five assists.

SCOUTING AMERICAN INT'L
-   The Yellow Jackets are off to a 3-5 start this season and have dropped three of their first four conference games.

-   The team defeated Southern Connecticut for is lone road and NE10 win thus far, 65-57 back on Nov. 26. Most recently, the team fell 75-51 at Adelphi on Saturday.

-   As a team, AIC is scoring 58.1 points per game, good for 13th in the conference, one spot ahead of New Haven. Defensively, AIC is 14th in the NE10 by surrendering 68.5 points.

-   AIC has three players scoring in double figures, with Rashana Siders leading the way at 13.0 ppg, followed by freshman Kayla Robinson (11.1 ppg) and Destinee Perry (10.9 ppg).

-   Perry is the team's top three-point shooting threat, shooting 40 percent (10-for-25) from the arc.

-   On the boards, the Yellow Jackets hold a +0.9 rebounding margin.

SCOUTING CHESTNUT HILL
-   Chestnut Hill enters Wednesday's matchup with the Chargers 3-5 overall and 2-0 in CACC play. The Griffins have won two games in a row, both against fellow CACC schools Georgian Court and Goldey-Beacom.

-   CHC holds a scoring margin of -7.4 this season, scoring 58.0 ppg. The Griffins are shooting 38.1 percent overall and 35.7 percent from the arc, and are being outrebounded by an average 4.2 rebs per game.

-   Chestnut Hill has featured the same starting lineup in each of its first eight games, with sophomore guard Lauren Crim leading the team with 14.8 ppg and a 39.7 percent 3FG%. Sophomore forward Leah Miller scores 11.3 ppg while shooting 41.4 percent, while junior guard Cassie Sebold scores 11.3 points per game and has team-highs of 14 steals and 4.6 assists per game.
HOME COOKING
New Haven has now won nine consecutive home games dating back to last season, their longest streak at home since they won 12 straight at Charger Gymnasium during the 2014-15 season.

UNDER-50 CLUB
New Haven has held opponents under 50 points in five games this season - Bridgeport (42), Bloomfield (47), Le Moyne (49), Southern Connecticut (48) and Saint Rose (48). New Haven is the only NE10 team with a scoring defense under 50 (49.7).

CHARITY POINTS
The Chargers went 20-for-22 from the free throw line in Saturday's game against Saint Rose. The effort raised their free throw percentage for the year from 63.0 percent (13th in NE10) to 68.9 percent (ninth in NE10).

CRASHING THE BOARDS
New Haven has yet to be outrebounded this season, outrebounding its opponents in six games, and drawing even with Pace. New Haven's +9.4 rebounding margin is second in the NE10.

STEALS
The Chargers' 18 steals against Saint Rose was a season-high. The Chargers have not had 20 steals in a game since Dec. 2007, when they stole 20 in a game against Mercy.

BLOCK PARTY
Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) swatted away five shots on Nov. 23 against Le Moyne, the most rejections in one game by a Charger since Wormack herself had a career-high seven blocks on Dec. 12, 2016 at Goldey-Beacom.

TIS' THE SEASON OF GIVING
The 19 assists dished out by New Haven against Bloomfield was the most in a game since the team put up 20 assists back on February 4, 2014 vs. Southern Connecticut State.

NEXT ON TAP
After this week's two games, the Chargers will have some time off for final exams before heading out to face Dominican next Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
