On Saturday, March 16, No. 17 New Haven Women's Lacrosse heads down to the Sunshine State to play at the Wide World of Sports to take on the University of Bridgeport. This is the second year in a row the Chargers will play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Scouting New Haven
The Chargers are coming off to a strong start in the month of March, winning the last three games by at least 12 goals or more. Mackenzie Reh (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue Medford), the IWLCA National Player of the Week and NE10 Player of the Week, had matched her career high 10 points with six goals and added four assists in a 22-6 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday. Samantha Galler (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) added a season-high four goals against the Owls. Gianna Guerra (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) made six saves in goal for her third win of the season, while Erica Rinsky (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) had two saves in her season debut.
Scouting Bridgeport
The Purple Knights played a game at the Wide World of Sports earlier this week, dropping a 20-11 decision to Southern New Hampshire. Shyla Murray led the way for the Purple Knights, scoring a hat trick, along with an assist. She leads the team in goals this season with eight. Courtney Forry had a team-high five points against SNHU, with a goal and four assists. She currently leads the team with 11 assists. Cheyanne Gangel made 12 saves in net for Bridgeport.
Next Up
New Haven will return to the northeast and resume conference play with a trip to Garden City, N.Y. to take on No. 2 Adelphi. Game time at Motamed Field is set for 4:00 pm.
