NEWARK, Del. – Freshman Mya Case (Syracuse, N.Y/West Genessee), who has split time at short stop and catcher, added to her collection of postseason honors on Wednesday afternoon when she was named as one of two utility players on the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-East Region Second Team. This most recent distinction compliments her Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team accolades as she leads the Chargers into the NCAA Division II East Region Championship which begins on Thursday.

Case is one of four players to start all 45 games and leads the Blue and Gold with a .367 batting average. Overall, she has scattered a team-high 51 hits across 139 at bats and driven in a team-best 34 RBI. Those numbers also rank among the best in the NE10 with her .367 batting average eighth best and her 34 RBI fourth best in the league.

Among her 51 hits are a team-high 16 extra base knocks which includes the most doubles on the team with 14. She also leads the team with 18 walks and 12 stolen bases with those swipes coming on 14 attempts. Case has hit safely in 34 games which includes a dozen multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI performances.

Among her highlights from the season was a 7-0 week where she led the team with a .522 batting average that came on 12 hits while knocking in nine runs, all of which led to NE10 Rookie of the Week honors. She also held a nine-game hitting streak which included the start of NE10 play.

Case and the Chargers will open up regional action on Thursday afternoon when they take on the second seeded LIU Post Pioneers at 1:30 p.m. at Asbury Field on the campus of Wilmington (Del.) University. Based on Thursday outcome, New Haven will then take on either Wilmington or Adelphi in the winner's bracket at 10:00 a.m. or the loser's bracket at 12:30 p.m. on Friday in the double elimination tournament.
