WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Senior midfielder Mackenzie Reh (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue Medford) and junior defender Raven Linton (Lawrenceville, N.J./Notre Dame) have both been recognized as First Team All-Americans, as announced Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). This is the second consecutive first team honor for Reh, who earned the distinction as a junior in 2018, and the first All-America honor for Linton. New Haven was one of only two schools nationwide to have multiple selections land on the First Team.
Both were previously named First Team All-East Region by the IWLCA and First Team All-Northeast 10 back in May.
The NE10 Midfielder of the Year for the second straight year, Reh rewrote the Chargers' record book after leading the team and the conference in scoring with 93 goals and 117 points, both of which are new single season records and ranked fifth in the nation. She also set a new single game record when she scored nine goals against Molloy on March 5 and then did it again on March 23 against then-No. 16 Merrimack.
A two-time IWLCA All-East Region honoree, Reh closed out her senior campaign with a career-high 35 free position goals, which is tied for the most in a single season. She also picked up 37 groundballs, 72 draw controls and had 13 caused turnovers. She also represented the Chargers in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game on June 1.
The Medford, N.Y. native capped off her collegiate career second all-time in goals (191), second in free position goals (72), third in career points (251), seventh in assists (60) and eighth in draw controls (155).
A two-time all-conference and two-time all-region honoree, Linton led the team and was tied for seventh in the conference with 36 caused turnovers, which is sixth-most in a single season in program history. She had a season-high five caused turnovers against Pace on April 2. She also led the team and was tied for fifth in the conference with 43 ground balls. She closed out her junior campaign second on the team with 98 draw controls. Linton also scored three goals and had three assists for six points.
The Chargers closed out the 2019 season with a 12-7 overall record after falling to Merrimack in the semifinals of the NE10 Conference Championship Tournament.
