WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The New Haven field hockey team will look to make it two wins in a row on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at American International. The Chargers picked up their second win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Molloy on Wednesday.

INSIDE THE SERIES
New Haven had dropped all three of its meetings in program history against AIC, which includes a 2-0 season-opening loss to AIC back on September 5.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (2-4, 2-1 NE10)
The Chargers have not lost a game this year in which they have scored, winning two games in NE10 play, and suffering four shutout losses thus far in 2019. New Haven's 4-2 win over Molloy on Wednesday was the first win by multiple goals in program history.

Sophomore Alexis Rider's (Delran, N.J./Delran) two-goal night on Wednesday moves her into a tie with sophomore Julia Battino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) for the team lead in goals, with two apiece. Freshman Zharria John (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) has a goal and an assist this season, while freshman Katie Durkee (Salem, Conn./East Lyme) scored her first career goal against Molloy. Sophomore Taylor Geaglone (Enfield, Conn./Enfield) boasts a team-leading two assists. Junior goaltender Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) made 18 saves in the two games last weekend to move into second in the conference with 44 saves.

SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS (5-0, 1-0 NE10)
Averaging 2.8 goals per game, AIC is off to a 5-0 start, coming off a win in its NE10 opener against Southern Connecticut State. The Yellow Jackets held the Chargers to just six total shots in a 2-0 win on Sept. 5 at DellaCamera Stadium. AIC trailed for the first time all season to SCSU in its most recent game on Tuesday, overcoming an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the third quarter before Shannon Cormier won it in overtime.
Sophomore Sophie Schulpen has three goals to lead the team, while five others have two goals apiece. Senior Georgia Barnes leads the way with three assists and is tied with Schulpen for a team-high seven points.

ON DECK
New Haven will head to Long Island to face Adelphi on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Panthers are tied for 10th in this week's NHFCA national rankings.
