New Haven Field Hockey Announces Schedule for 2026 Season

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Newly-hired New Haven Field Hockey Head Coach Cheryl Canada has announced her program's 2026 schedule, featuring 17 regular-season contests, including six home games at DellaCamera Stadium. The slate also delivers a challenging array of non-conference opponents.

The Blue & Gold will open the season on the road on Friday, Aug. 28, traveling to Colgate before making their home debut two days later on Sunday, Aug. 30.

September features a stretch of non-conference competition as New Haven visits Providence College (Friday, Sept. 4), Villanova University (Sunday, Sept. 6), UMass Lowell (Friday, Sept. 11), and La Salle University (Sunday, Sept. 20) before beginning NEC play.

Conference action opens at home on Friday, Sept. 25, when the Chargers host the Rider Broncs. New Haven will also welcome Stonehill on Oct. 9 and Merrimack on Oct. 16 as part of its NEC schedule, while conference road trips include LIU, Sacred Heart University, Mercyhurst University, and Wagner College.

Outside of conference play, the Chargers continue their schedule with October matchups against the University of New Hampshire, Holy Cross, and Quinnipiac. The 2026 campaign comes to a close on Friday, Oct. 30 as the Blue & Gold visit Staten Island to matchup with Wagner.
