The Chargers continue NE10 action with a second-straight road contest, traveling to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. New Haven is coming off of a 3-1 conference decision against Bentley on Wednesday.
SERIES HISTORY
New Haven and Southern New Hampshire opened their all-time series in October 1994 with the Penmen 12-5-4 advantage through the first 21 meetings. New Haven is looking to break a streak of three-straight losses to the Penmen when they meet on Saturday afternoon.Â
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS ( 1-3-1, 0-2 NE10)
Samantha Roth (Hicksville, N.Y./St. Anthony's), who was named to the NE10 honor roll on Monday, continues to lead the team with five points, on two goals and an assist. Following Roth in leading the Chargers is Jenna Peduzzi (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme), who is second on the team with four points on a pair of goals, both of which came against Bloomfield. Senior Sorcha Ni Bhraonain (Galway, Ireland/Colaiste Cholmcille), a key defender for the Chargers, recorded her first career goal against Bentley
Defensively, the Chargers are led by goalkeeper Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) who was named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. Davis collected a career-high 13 saves on 14 shots faced against Stonehill last week. She opened up the game stopping all six shots she faced as she shut-out the Skyhawks through the first half. That performance followed her first win of the season when she stopped four of the five shots she faced in a 5-1 win over Bloomfield.Â
SCOUTING THE PENMANÂ (3-1-0, 1-1, NE10)Â
Southern New Hampshire is currently undefeated on its home turf and have tallied 11 goals in four games played. Leading the Penmen is sophomore Dorthea Glorud, with seven points on two goals and three assists. Junior Allyson Patterson follows behind her teammate with six points, leading the team with three goals. Sydney Carney is tied with Glorud for the team high of three assists this season.Â
Penmen goalkeeper Hannah Rose has started and played all four of games this season. Having played every minute, she has tallied a total of 23 saves, with a .719 saving percentage. This is her second season in the net for Southern New Hampshire and has been a strong wall in goal for the Penmen collecting 86 saves last season.Â
