WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The New Haven field hockey team will play a national-ranked opponent for the second straight game on Saturday when it hosts No. 4 Saint Anselm at DellaCamera Stadium at 1 p.m. This will be the second of six games on the Chargers' schedule against teams currently ranked in the NFHCA's DII National Coaches Top 10 Poll.
INSIDE THE SERIES
New Haven is 0-2 all-time over the last two season against the Hawks.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (3-5, 3-2 NE10)
Winners of two of their last three, New Haven holds a 3-5 (3-2 NE10) mark this season. The Chargers have not lost a game this year in which they have scored, winning three games in NE10 play, and suffering five shutout losses thus far in 2019. Last week's 4-2 win over Molloy was New Haven's first win by multiple goals in program history.
Junior goaltender
Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) tied a career-high with 22 saves on Wednesday at No. 9 Adelphi, ranking her second in the NE10 this season in saves with 71. She has made 29 saves over her last three games.
Sophomore
Julia Battino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) scored her third goal of the season in Saturday's win at American International, moving into the team lead in that category. Sophomore
Alexis Rider (Delran, N.J./Delran) registered a two-goal night last week against Molloy. Sophomore
Taylor Geaglone (Enfield, Conn./Enfield) boasts a team-leading two assists, while freshman
Zharria John (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) has the team's other assist.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (6-0, 4-0 NE10)
Saint Anselm has moved to No. 4 in the nation in this week's NFHCA poll, rising one spot from last week. The Hawks have yet to allow a goal this season, and are averaging 5.7 goals per game offensively over their last three contests.
Junior Ericka Meissner has score six goals, good for third in the NE10, and is fifth in the NE10 with 14 points. Sophomore Carly LaCasse and senior Michelle Lemelin have four goals each on the season. Senior Hannah Friend is tied for second in the conference with four assists, and earlier this year became Saint Anselm's all-time leader in career points. She enters Saturday with 80 career points.

Next up, New Haven will play crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. at Jess Dow Field on the SCSU campus.
