MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman setter Sophia Leon-Tabor (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) became the second Charger this season to earn a weekly honor from the Northeast-10 in volleyball when she was a double honoree on Tuesday, earning Rookie and Setter of the Week accolades.
The first-year setter for the Chargers led her squad to a 2-0 start in NE10 play as the Blue and Gold hit over .300 for the week with 71 combined kills in wins over American International and Saint Rose. For the week, she finished with 80 total assists, for an average of 11.43 per set, opening up the week with 48 against the Yellow Jackets and adding 32 more against Saint Rose.
She also finished with 20 total digs, including 11 against the Golden Knights for a double double. The rookie setter also added a pair of blocks and an assists in the first match of the week against AIC.
Leon-Tabor and the Chargers return to action with a pair of midweek non-conference matches, first welcoming in-state rival Bridgeport for the battle of I-95 on Tuesday night. First serve against the Purple Knights is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
