The Bulldogs went on to advance to the NCAA playoff quarterfinal round before concluding the season with a 12-2 overall record.
Following the trip to Maryland, the Chargers will play back-to-back games on the friendly Blue & Gold turf of Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium with the home opener slated to be the first of two battles with crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday, September 10. However, the Chargers will be looking to extend a 12-game streak against the Owls that dates back to the 2010 campaign.

The next two games will come away from the Chargers home turf with visits from Bentley and Saint Anselm next on the docket. First up will be the final game of the opening month when the Chargers travel to Waltham, Mass. for a date with the Falcons, the first since the Chargers defeated Bentley in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Division II playoffs. The second game in the road trip will take New Haven to Manchester, N.H. to take on the Saint Anselm Hawks (Oct.1), opening the month of October.
New Haven will then again return home for back-to-back home games as they welcome Pace to DellaCamera Stadium on Saturday, October 8 before stepping away from NE10 conference action for a first-time meeting with an in-state rival, Post. The Eagles elevated their Sprint Football team to full varsity status, playing an abbreviated schedule in the fall of 2021.

The regular season finale will be the second of the two meetings with the crosstown rival Owls as the Chargers look to maintain control of the Elm City Trophy for the 12th straight season. The Battle of the Elm City is slated for a12:00 p.m. kickoff at Jess Dow Field on Saturday, November 12.
