FULL IWLCA ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL RELEASE
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The University of New Haven women's lacrosse team was one of 398 schools to be named an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), while eight Chargers also received Academic Honor Roll distinction as announced by the IWLCA.
Individually, the eight Chargers honored were among 517 total student-athletes from 68 Division II institutions to earn Honor Roll accolades, which are presented to juniors, seniors or graduate students who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater over the current academic year.
Overall, the eight Chargers were among 86 athletes from 12 schools representing the NE10. Earning the distinction for the Blue and Gold was juniors Annie Acquavita (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire), Laura Agbayani (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) and Cameryn Antler (Hebron, Conn./Mercy), seniors Julia Astram (Milford, Conn./Milford), Meredith Karsonovich (Hampton Falls, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) and Megan McLoughlin (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) and graduate students Leah Davis (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) and Mary Rishmany (Tiverton, R.I./Bishop Stang).
As a team, New Haven was one of 62 Division II institution to earn the distinction, while also one of 10 schools representing the Northeast-10 Conference. To be eligible, a team must have posted a combined grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale). The team GPA is based on a cumulative grade point average for the current academic year (2021-22), with New Haven's cumulative GPA coming in at 3.56, one of five teams with a combined GPA of 3.5 or higher for the most recent academic year.
The Chargers wrapped up the regular season and Northeast-10 Conference playoffs with an overall record of 11-7 and a 7-6 mark in league play after dropping an 18-8 decision to eventual NE10 Champion Stonehill in the playoff quarterfinal round.
