MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Macy Brown (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) and Sophia Leon-Tabor (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) took home NE-10 Conference awards this week following the Chargers 2-1 finish in the Wildcat Regional Invitational. Brown won player of the week and Leon-Tabor setter of the week.
Macy Brown (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) finished the tournament with 47 kills, 26 of those coming in the blue and gold's 3-2 win over Wilmington in the final match of the tournament. Brown's play in the tournament also earned her recognition as a member of the All-Tournament team. Brown leads all Chargers with 156 kills through 11 matches.
Sophia Leon-Tabor (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) took home Setter of the week following her 126 assists in the tournament, 61 coming in the match against Wilmington. Leon-Tabor brings her total assists to 291 on the season through New Haven's first 11 matches.
New Haven turns its attention to conference play, but before that will have one final non-conference test which will come against a conference opponent in Assumption. That final test before league play comes on Saturday, September 17 with first serve set for 1:00 p.m. at Laska Gymnasium.
