Three from Women’s Lacrosse Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

FULL CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT RELEASE

WEST HAVEN, Conn. –
A trio of New Haven women's lacrosse players scored some academic honors on Tuesday, hauling in Academic All-District accolades as presented by the College Sports Communicators. By earning this distinction, Laura Agbayani (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme), Cameryn Antler (Hebron, Conn./Mercy) and Raegan Bailey (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) are now all eligible for Academic All-America honors as presented by the organization. All-America honorees will be announced on June 22.

Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, the Academic All-District and Academic All-America program is the longest running and premier award combining athletic and academic success. To be eligible, student-athletes my have a minimum 3.50 GPA and be a starter or important reserve on their team. Overall, the program honors student-athletes representing 14 individual sports, while others are included in an at-large category.

A senior from Niantic, Connecticut, Agbayani completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design with a concentration in pre-architecture and a minor in marketing this May.  Overall, Agbayani sports a 3.80 cumulative grade point average and has been named to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll and the New Haven Dean's List all seven semesters she has been at UNH.

A senior from Hebron, Connecticut, Antler completed her Bachelor of Science in nutrition sciences with a cumulative grade point average of 3.85. Overall, she has been named to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll and the New Haven Dean's List all seven semesters she has been at UNH.

A sophomore from Cheshire, Connecticut, Bailey is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in business analytics with a concentration in marketing analytics and sports a cumulative grade point average pf 3.84. In her two years at New Haven, she has been named to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll and the New Haven Dean's List all three semesters thus far.

After wrapping up the regular season with an 11-6 record, the women's lacrosse earned its first trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship field since 2017, falling to the eventual national champion Pace in the opening round. Overall for the season, the Chargers were 11-8 with an 8-4 mark in Northeast-10 Conference action.
