WHAT'S ON TAP
Another quick trip awaits the New Haven women's basketball team as they head to Pleasantville, N.Y. to take on the Pace Setters. The matchup begins the second trip through the NE10 schedule as teams begin to make moves in the standings ahead of the NE10 Tournament in early March.
SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
A conference leading, and top-21 in the nation, seven double doubles from graduate post player Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) and she is one of the key leaders for the Chargers, averaging 12.1 points and an NE10 leading 10.1 rebounds. Also on a bit of a hot streak is junior guard Charlotte Bassett (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) who has scored in double figures in seven of the last 10 games, including a career-high 22 points against Georgian Court and her first double double (15 points, 10 rebounds) against Franklin Pierce. Her recent success has also moved her up the scoring column, currently third on the team with an average of 9.3 ppg. Rounding out the trio of top scorers is sophomore Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) who has helped fill the void left by the loss of two of the top three scorers from a year ago as she is averaging 10.9 points per game. The Chargers have relief on the experience of senior Gabrielle Stickle (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) to run the offense and she has not disappointed, dishing out 50 assists and is seventh in the NE10 with 3.3 per game. Included for Stickle is a pair of games with a career-high eight assists versus Goldey-Beacom and Georgian Court. As a team, New Haven is outscoring opponents by an average of 4.2 points per game, scoring 80+ in the first two games of the season, after hitting that scoring mark just once all of last season. All combined, the Chargers are shooting 40.2 percent (331-824) as a team, led by Bianca Pendleton (Accokeek, Md./New Hope Academy) who is shooting 55.8 percent from the field (24-43).
SCOUTING PACE
With a 6-4 record in the NE10, the Setters are currently fifth in the league standings and right now are in a position to host one of the four first round games in the NE10 Championship, however with a hot streak could earn a bye into the quarterfinals as one of the top-four teams in the standings at the end of the regular season. Most recently, the Setters are riding a two-game streak into tonight's game after having dropped three-straight prior to that, opening up the 2024 calendar with an 0-3 record before finding the win column. For the season, Pace is outscoring its opponents by just over three points per game with just one player on the roster averaging in double figures as Tower Lorde leads the way at 12.4 ppg. The post player is shooting 55.3 percent from the field and leads the team in rebounding with an average of 7.6 boards per game while adding 13 blocks, second most o n the team.
SERIES HISTORY vs PACE

· Pace holds a 29-11 record in the previous 40 games, including a stretch where they won 18-of-19 straight games
