NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – There are now three All-Americans among the New Haven women's lacrosse team as graduate transfer midfielder Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) added the honor on Wednesday afternoon with the distinction coming in the form of Third Team honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association. Schenk joins teammates Laura Agbayani (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) and Gabby Buscemi (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) who were named All-American from USA Lacrosse earlier this week.
A Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team selection, Schenk closed out her first season with the Chargers leading the team in scoring with 66 points on 56 goals and 10 assists. Among her 56 goals were 16 free position scores, while three went in the books as game-winning tallies.
In addition to her scoring success, Schenk was also among the team leaders in draw controls (second), ground balls (third) and caused turnovers (fourth).
After falling to Adelphi in the NCAA East Region opening round, New Haven concluded its 2024 campaign with a 12-7 overall record and an 8-3 record in the NE10.
