Under second-year head coach Ana Pego, the Chargers will play a pair of early season tournaments, the first in the Sunshine State at the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Volleyball Classic before returning to New England and competing in the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament hosted by Bentley University.

The 2024 season will get underway with the two-day, three-match Tampa Volleyball Classic at the Bob Martinez Athletic Center, a 3,400-seat arena that is the centerpiece of Tampa Spartans Athletics. Two of the three matches in the season-opening tournament will be first time meetings for the Chargers, including the first match of the year which will pit New Haven against Hillsdale on Friday, September 6. The day of the tournament will include a pair of matches, the first of the day against the host Spartans before meeting the Texas Woman's University Pioneers.

One week after returning from the fun in the sun, New Haven will head to the Bay State for three matches at the Dana Center, all of which will come against teams that are traditionally among the top-10 in the East Region. The Chargers will open the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament with two matches on the opening day, Friday, September 13, when they take on American International and Daeman. A date with the host Falcons will follow on Saturday, September 14.

The first appearance of the season on hardwood in Charger Gymnasium in the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center will follow the weekend at Bentley with a familiar foe as the Bridgeport Purple Knights will make the trek north on I-95 on Tuesday, September 17. The stop in West Haven will be short lived as the Chargers will head back on the road for the following weekend when they head south for contests in Philadelphia, Pa. and Lakewood, N.J. where they will meet the Jefferson Rams on Friday, September 20 and Georgian Court on Saturday, September 21.

After returning from the weekend on the road, the Blue and Gold will play four-straight games in their home state, the first on the road against Post on Wednesday, September 25 before hosting three straight games at Charger Gymnasium. The home stretch will begin with a doubleheader on Friday, September 27 with Dominican and Bloomfield before Holy Family visits campus on Saturday, September 28.

The month of October will begin with three-straight road games the first to Long Island to take on the Molloy Lions on Tuesday, October 1 before heading to Wilmington, Del. For a regional matchup with the Wilmington Wildcats. The final road game in that stretch will also be the Northeast-10 Conference opener as the Chargers will begin defense of their Northeast-10 title on Tuesday, October 8 with the rivalry match against the Southern Connecticut Owls.

The first home match in the month of October will be the first of back-to-back at home with the Southern New Hampshire Penmen visiting campus on Saturday, October 12 for the first NE10 match of the year at Charger Gymnasium. Three days later another team from the Granite State will come to West Haven with the Saint Anselm Hawks visiting on Tuesday, October 15.

A quick road trip will follow the two-straight home games as the Chargers will head to Rindge, N.H. for a conference match on Saturday, October 19. Following that will be a break from conference play with the Mercy Mavericks visiting West Haven on Tuesday, October 22.

The return to conference play will come on the road as the Chargers will visit American International on Saturday, October 26 in what will be the second meeting of the season after the two are schedule to meet at the Bentley Tournament in September.

After opening the month on the road, the final two matches in October will come at home with visits from the Adelphi Panthers on Tuesday, October 29 before a Halloween match when the Queens Knights stop in for a spooky evening in Charger Gymnasium.

Just like October, the month of November will start on the road, this time around with a single trip as the Blue and Gold will head to Colchester, Vt. to take on Saint Michael's on Saturday, October 2. The first home match of the season will feature a visit from Bentley for another rematch from earlier in the year, with the Falcons stopping by on Saturday, October 9.

The final road game of the regular season will come in the fashion of a trip to the Empire State and the Goldstein Fitness Center in Pleasantville, N.Y. to face the Pace Setters on Tuesday, November 12. The regular season finale will come on the friendly hardwood of Debbie Chin Court as Assumption will visit campus on Saturday, November 16 for what will also serve as Senior Day.

The top eight teams in the conference standings following regular season play will qualify for the NE10 Championship, which opens with a quarterfinal on Tuesday, November 19 at the home sites of the four highest seeds. The semifinals and championship match take place on November 22-23 with the final four hosted by the highest remaining seed following quarterfinal play.

The NCAA Division II East Region Championship is scheduled to take place December 5-7 at the highest seeded team who submits a hosting bid. The season will culminate with the NCAA Division II Final Eight being contested December 12-14 at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
