Team Efforts Lift Chargers in the Season opener Against A New Opponent

BOX SCORE Mount Olive, N.C. -  A team effort lifts the Chargers in the opening game of the season16-7. With the win the University of New Haven women's lacrosse team goes to 1-0 on the season.

Overall, seven different Chargers found the back the of the net on Saturday afternoon, led by senior Gianna Caprioli (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Franklin Delano Roosevelt) who finished the game with four goals. Caprioli also finished the game with one assist, and one caused turnover.  A trio of Chargers also finished the game with a hattrick they were Caitlin Seleny (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton), Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug), and Helena Dunwoody (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich).
The Chargers dominated the draw control 21-4, leading in that category was Helena Dunwoody (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich). Dunwoody led the game with 10. Between the pipes in her first collegiate start was Madeline Sage (Manchester, N.H./Goffstown High School) as she finished the game with 12 saves.
 
Up next for the Chargers is their home opener on Wednesday February 26 as they play a non-conference game against Mercy College schedule for opening draw at 4:00 pm.
