WEST HAVEN, Conn. – College Sport Communicators has announced its 2025 Women's Academic All-District At-Large Teams. New Haven Women's Lacrosse had six players earn Academic All-District status in 2025. Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug), Gianna Caprioli (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Franklin Delano Roosevelt), Maddie Sage, Caitlin Seleny (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton), Justine Doyle (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy), and Summer Castiglione (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) were all selected to the Division II team. Schenk, Caprioli, Sage, Seleny, and Castiglione will all be on the national ballot.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Schenk led the team in points (82) and tied for second in assists (16). The midfielder's 66 goals ranked 21st in the country and placed 42nd in points. Schenk's 4.95 draw controls per game also placed in the top 50, slotting 43rd. She also became the program's first All-American since 2021.
Caprioli, who was also named to the NE10 and East Region teams, slotted in just behind Schenk in goals (51) and points (67), both career highs. Caprioli would not be denied in battles, coming away with a team-high 49 ground balls.
Sage, who played in and started all 19 games, set career-highs in minutes (1055:35), saves (137), wins (13), and shots faced (424). She led the Chargers in every major goaltending category. The Manchester, N.H. native also earned Second-Team All NE10 honors in 2025.
Seleny finished as the team's primary set-up option, as the junior's 23 assists ranked first on the team. Her 31 goals ranked fourth on the team, and 54 points rounded out the top trio behind Schenk and Caprioli. Seleny earned Second-Team All-East Region honors following the 2025 season.
Doyle earned an IWLCA Senior All-Star nod following a season in which she played a major role in the Chargers having the 13th best scoring defense in the country. The senior defender caused 11 turnovers and picked up 10 ground balls en route to an All-Conference selection.
Castiglione was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team following a year in which the junior midfielder set career-highs in goals (24), shots (64), shots on goal (49), and shots on goal percentage (.715). Caglione's 35 draw controls ranked third on the team.
