New Haven Men's Basketball Announces 2026-27 Schedule

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Basketball Head Coach Ted Hotaling has announced his program's 2026-27 schedule. The Blue & Gold will take on a challenging non-conference slate before opening NEC play in January.

New Haven's 2026-27 schedule features 15 non-conference contests, including road matchups against Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn State, Stony Brook, Boston College and Nebraska. The Chargers will also welcome Army West Point, Columbia, NJIT and New Hampshire to West Haven during the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Power Conference Tests

The Chargers will open the season with a pair of road contests against Power Conference opponents, beginning Monday, Nov. 2 at Syracuse before traveling to Rutgers on Friday, Nov. 6.

New Haven will then travel to Penn State on Sunday, Nov. 15 before closing out its non-conference schedule with trips to Stony Brook on Dec. 18, Boston College on Dec. 20 and Nebraska on Dec. 30.

Home at The Hazell Center

The Blue & Gold will play eight non-conference games at home, beginning with Army West Point on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.

Following the matchup with Army, New Haven will host a slew of non-conference games including New Hampshire on Nov. 21, Columbia on Dec. 4, and NJIT on Dec. 9.

MBB Schedule Release 26-27

NEC Slate

New Haven will begin NEC play in the new year, with 16 conference contests scheduled across January and February.

The Blue & Gold will host three of its first four NEC contests, beginning with Mercyhurst on Saturday, Jan. 2. LIU follows on Monday, Jan. 4, while Wagner comes to West Haven on Friday, Jan. 8. The first three NEC games will tip off at 1 p.m.

Following the opening three-game homestand, New Haven will travel to Central Connecticut State and Chicago State on Jan. 14 and Jan. 16, respectively. The Chargers will then return home to face FDU on Jan. 21 before traveling to LIU and Stonehill.

The second half of the conference schedule features home contests against Central Connecticut State, Le Moyne, Chicago State, and Stonehill, while the Chargers will travel to Wagner, FDU, Le Moyne, and Mercyhurst.

The regular season will conclude Thursday, Feb. 25, when New Haven hosts Stonehill.

NEC Tournament

New Haven is eligible to play in the NEC Tournament this season. The tournament is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 3, with additional tournament dates slated for Saturday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 9.
