WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Anastasios Petridis and Keidy Candelaria have been named the NewHavenChargers.com Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 13, 2012. NewHavenChargers.com will select its Student-Athletes of the Week every Monday throughout the 2012-13 academic year.

Goalkeeper Anastasios Petridis (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon ) recorded his third solo shutout of the season in the Chargers' 2-0 victory at Saint Michael's on Saturday. Petridis made five saves in that match, while also turning away four shots in Wednesday's contest at Saint Rose. New haven returns to action at Kayo Field on Wednesday, Oct. 17 against Assumption.

Keidy Candelaria (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Bayamon Military Academy) helped lead the Chargers to a 3-0 week by posting double-doubles in wins over Bridgeport and Massachusetts Lowell. She led all players with 4.91 kills per set with a .356 hitting percentage on the week. For the season, she leads the team and the Northeast-10 Conference 3.66 kills per set. The Chargers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 16 vs. Saint Rose.
