Ryan Kipness to Join NYCFC II for Training

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer forward Ryan Kipness (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) has received and accepted an invitation to train with New York City FC II.

"Kippy is deserving of this opportunity. He shows up everyday and gets after it, his performances are a reflection of that. In the short time he has been with us, his contributions to the program will have a lasting impact on future Chargers," New Haven Men's Soccer Head Coach Tommy Mattera said.

NYCFC II is the reserves team for NYCFC of Major League Soccer, the professional soccer league in the United States. NYCFC II plays in the MLS NEXT Pro League, a league that specializes in player development. Kipness has earned the opportunity to be integrated into the professional environment, train with the club, and will be evaluated by the club's technical staff.

Kipness, a Stamford, Conn. native, came to New Haven after transferring from Columbia University. In 2025, he played in 14 matches, starting 12, and finished the year with a pair of goals and an assist. His 813 minutes played ranked eighth on the team.
