WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The New Haven men's and women's track and field programs will compete for the second time since returning from Winter Break on Friday at the Lyons Invitational. Action will get underway at 4 p.m. with the field events, followed by the 60 meter hurdles kicking off the track events at 5 p.m.

Michael Reddy (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) broke the school record in the 1,000 meters and was named the Northeast-10's Track Athlete of the Week. The Chargers also saw three members of the men's and women's teams land on the NE10's weekly honor roll, including junior jumper
Dante Gonzalez (Palisades Park, N.J./Palisades Park), who finished third out of 17 in the high jump after clearing 1.93 meters, in addition to running on the 4x400m relay team that finished second. On the women's side, grad student
Kathleen Amstad (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) made the honor roll after finishing runner-up out of 101 runners in the 200m dash in 25.74, and also took fifth out of 81 in the 60m dash in 7.90 seconds.
Kristen Washington (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) also won the long jump (1st of 48 - 5.46m) and took fourth in the triple jump (4th of 28 - 11.15m).
