Linton, Gonzalez Named Finalists for NE10 Woman and Man of the Year

MANSFIELD, Mass. –
Graduate student women's lacrosse defender Raven Linton (Lawrenceville, N.J./Notre Dame) and senior men's track & field jumper Dante Gonzalez (Palisades Park, N.J./Palisades Park) have been named as finalists for the Northeast-10 Conference Woman and Man of the Year awards, respectively.

Recently named an All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, Linton is the reigning NE10 Defensive Player of the Year and an IWLCA All-Region selection who has set numerous records throughout her career with the Chargers. The Lawrenceville, N.J. native graduates as the all-time leader in draw controls, while she also set the school record for caused turnovers this past season.

Throughout her collegiate career, Linton is a three-time All-Region selection, four-time NE10 All-Conference honoree and has received All-American honors by the IWLCA following the 2019 season and USA Lacrosse Magazine following this past year.

Gonzalez is fresh off of being named an All-Region selection in a pair of events as announced by the United States Track and Field, Cross Country Coaches Association. That distinction comes on the heels of earning All-New England honors in the high jump with his height of 1.96 meters at the New England Championship.

In addition to those honors this past season, he is a multiple NE10 All-Conference selection during both the indoor and outdoor season, while he was a 2018 New England Champion in the high jump during the outdoor season, while his All-Region honors this past season is the third of his collegiate career.

The 2020-21 NE10 Man and Woman of the Year awards are selected by the league's Senior Woman Administrator Council, with all nominees a student-athlete in their final year of eligibility that has excelled in all areas of the their collegiate careers – on the playing surface, in the classroom and in the community.

Two winners, one male and one female, will be selected and announced as part of a pre-recorded live awards show on NE10 Now which is slated for the evening of Monday, June 7.

The 2020-21 academic year marks the ninth time that the league will award the NE10 Man of the Year honor, while the NE10 Woman of the Year honor has been awarded since 2005-06 and will be put forth as the league's official NCAA Woman of the Year candidate.
