WHAT'S ON TAP
For the second straight season, the Chargers look to go 3-0 to start the season as the step away from NE10 play to host the Bloomfield Bears on Saturday in the front end of a doubleheader with the men's team.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
It's been a few years since one can remember a Charger women's basketball team averaging 70+ points per game, but this year the Blue and Gold are doing that and more, averaging 76.5 points in their first two games. Leading those efforts is graduate guard Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) who is averaging 27 points per game, including a career-high 30 points in the season opener against Georgian Court. Her co-captain Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) has also opened 2022-23 the way she ended last season with her 15th & 16th career double doubles, averaging 13.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg in the first two games. Thru the first two games, the Chargers are outscoring their opponents by 14 points, outrebounding them by 14 and shooting 48 percent from the field while holding the opponents to 38 percent shooting.

SCOUTING BLOOMFIELD
In the sixth season of her first collegiate head coaching position, Vanessa Watson has the Bears off to a 1-2 start, earning their first win of the season on Wednesday against Staten Island. For the season, the Bears are being outscored by more than 20 points per game, struggling to score as they are shooting just 30 percent from the field, including 12.5 percent from beyond the arc. Leading the Bears in nearly every statistical categories is redshirt-sophomore forward Daniya Darby. The 6-1 post player is averaging 10.3 points and 6.0 rebounds while also leading the team with three assists and seven steals.

SERIES HISTORY vs BLOOMFIELD
