The Chargers have dropped their past two contests at home, both over nationally ranked opponents. As they gear up for their next two on the road, New Haven looks to improve their record with visits to American International College and Southern Connecticut State University.

Inside the Series
New Haven holds a 19-3 edge over the Yellow Jackets in terms of matchup history. Since the 2005 season, the Chargers have been on a constant 17 game, 16 season winning streak. The only three times American International conquered the Blue and Gold came in the 2004 season and then the two games the teams played each other in the 2001 season to start their history.

Head coach Jen Fallon is in her 16th season leading New Haven women's lacrosse and remains undefeated when playing on the same field as the Yellow Jackets.

Scoring the Yellow Jackets (2-7, 0-6 NE10)
Since American International shut down Felician 20-2 on March 15, the Yellow Jackets have lost their past five contests, with all teams being a part of the Northeast-10 conference. Their closest loss was a one-goal game at Southern Connecticut State University, who the Chargers will face on Wednesday. More recently, they fell 19-9 when the Le Moyne Dolphins visited Springfield and now the Chargers will go to their neighbor to the north for part two of the Yellow Jackets home stretch. When defending their home field, Ronald J. Abdow Field, American International is 1-4.

Right now, there is only one team behind American International in the NE10 rankings: Saint Michael's. Both schools have not taken a victory over any other conference opponent, however American International has one more win counting towards their overall record.

Antonella Mikolyuk, freshman attack, was named NE10 Rookie of the Week opening the lacrosse season. She helped lead her team to a 1-1 opening week scoring seven points in the Yellow Jackets home opener against Saint Thomas Aquinas, from four goals and three assists. The following game when Bridgeport visited Springfield the Quebec native scored two and assisted two for a total of 11 points the first week. In the circle over those two, she won 12 draws splitting six per game.

That was just opening weekend, now nine games in Mikolyuk totals 26 points on 17 goals and nine assists. She leads the team in draw controls with 55. Kathryn Moody leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 20 goals. As a team, American International averages 10.4 goals per game and scored a high of 20 goals on two occasions, their homeowner against STAQ and their most recent victory, Felician.

Scouting the Chargers (6-4, 2-4 NE10)
New Haven started this week dropping a ten-goal decision to No. 14 Pace. The Chargers were down two going into the fourth quarter but the Setters offense outscored the Blue and Gold 9-1 in the final 15 minutes of action.

Raegan Bailey (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire), who was named NE10 Rookie of the Week for the sixth week, posted four goals on six shots aimed at the net. Marina Skelly (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) scored a single goal, to put her at 95 on her career, and is now only a handful away from hitting the 100 club.

Against the Setters, the Chargers went 2-for-6 scoring on free position attempts. Over the course of their ten games so far, the Blue and Gold are scoring .478 on free position attempts.

When and Where
The Chargers will embark on their fifth away game of the season, where they hold a 3-1 record on the road. New Haven's last two-game road stint ended in a split, with a win to No. 5 Le Moyne and a 9-8 loss to Saint Rose.

American International is the first stop of two this time around. They follow up Springfield with a trip down the road to Southern Connecticut on Wednesday.

Saturday's matchup is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. under the lights at Ronald J. Abdow Field on April 9. Live coverage will be available on the NE10 Now Network, as well as play-by-play statistics on NewHavenChargers.com
