FULL USTFCCCA RELEASE & ALL-REGION TEAMS

NEW ORLEANS, La. –
An NCAA qualifier and a Northeast-10 Champion highlight a trio of women's track and field athlete who wrapped up the outdoor season earning United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors as announced by the organization.

Earning the distinction for the second time this past academic year was senior jumper Kristen Washington (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) and junior thrower Jalynn McCown (Guilford, Conn./Guilford), while junior thrower Neva Bostic (Saint Johnsbury, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) scored the honor for the first time in her collegiate career.

Washington takes the accolade after leading the jumpers all season long and earning one of 24 spots in the NCAA Division II National Championships in Allendale, Mich. The senior hit a season-best mark of 12.40 meters early in the spring at the Alan and Connie Shamrock Invitational, with that distance holding as the second best in the east region throughout the outdoor season. Overall, Washington never finished outside of the top-three in both of her spring events – triple and long jump – in for different meets, including taking home first place honors four times, twice in each event.

McCown's spring All-Region honors comes in the hammer throw after earning the distinction in the weight throw following the indoor season. In the hammer, McCown threw a season-best distance of 45.38 meters (148' 11") at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational, while closing out the season with a third place finish at the NE10 Outdoor Championships.

Bostic consistently improved her career-best tosses all season long in the javelin throw, taking home first place honors in the event six times during the spring season, including taking home title accolades at the NE10 Championship, her first conference title as a Charger. The Saint Johnsbury, Vt. native saw her best throw of the year come at the Wilton Wright Invitational where she tossed a distance of 39.51 meters (129' 7"), extending her school record in the event originally set as a sophomore in 2021.
