THE LEAD
Winners of its last three games, the Chargers now turn their attention to NE10 teams that they have already played once this season with a visit to Garden City the first up in that stretch as the Panthers await on Tuesday night.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
In the midst of an 11-game NE10 stretch, New Haven relies heavily on its starting five who are all averaging more than 30 minutes per game, with three of the five averaging in double figures and the five combined providing 86% of the total scoring (1,016-of-1,179 total points). Leading the team individually is senior transfer Ty Perry (Boston, Mass./Brighton) who is averaging 14.9 ppg, seventh best in the NE10. On his heals is graduate guard Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) and junior Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) at 14.8 and 13.2 ppg, respectively. Rounding out the starting five is Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial High School) and Majur Majak (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./) who average 9.4 and 8.4 ppg, respectively. Among the five, Majak leads the team and the NE10 with an impressive 67.4 percent (60-of-89) shooting from the field, while Lane is also among the best in the league at 52.8 percent (94-of-178). Majak is also the NE10's leading shot blocker with 54 stuffed attempts, which also ranks him third nationally in total blocks.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
The Panthers have flip-flopped wins and losses the entire month of January, with their most recent outing a one-point (57-56) win over Saint Michael's this past Saturday. Despite their 9-11 overall record and 3-9 mark in the NE10, the Panthers are averaging 74.4 points per game which is the third highest in the conference heading into Tuesday night. On the flip side, defensively the Panthers are also allowing the second most points per game at 74.7, while they are also being outrebounded by an average of 2.5 per game. Individually, freshman post Elijah Lewis leads the Panthers and is one of three players averaging double figures in the scoring column with his 15.0 ppg, while shooting a team-high 55.6 percent (104-of-187). Despite being listed as a post player, Lewis is also one of the top players from outside the arc for Adelphi as he enters Tuesday with 32 three-point field goals. Rounding out the leading scorers for Adelphi is Ronnie Silva (14.8 ppg) and Dayshaun Walton (12.2 ppg).

Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial High School) followed him with 18 points while Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) (15) and Ty Perry (Boston, Mass./Brighton) (13) rounded out the leaders. Overall, the Chargers starting five scored all but nine of the 82 points. AT OUR BEST AGAINST THE BEST
With its three victories over Bentley, Saint Anselm and Southern Connecticut, New Haven has proven that it can handle playing against the best teams in the Northeast-10 Conference. The wins over Southern Connecticut (58-51), Saint Anselm (72-63) and Bentley (60-59) all giving New Haven great standing in the league heading down the stretch. In those three games alone, the Chargers held the conference foes to just 57.7 points per game, while shooting 42 percent from the field.

HONOR ROLL
After scoring his 1,000th career point earlier this season, graduate guard Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) continues to make headlines for the Chargers as he picked up the first weekly award of the season for New Haven, named NE10 Player of the Week (January 23) following a 2-0 week for the Blue and Gold. Lane averaged 19.5 points while shooting 51.7 percent (15-of-29) to lead the Chargers to wins over Bentley and Pace. Among his performance was scoring the game-winner against the Falcons as time expired while also scoring six points in the final minutes and picking off a Pace pass in the final minute then finding Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) on a breakaway for the game-winning slam dunk.
