THE LEAD
Looking for the first home-and-home sweep of the season, the Chargers conclude a two-game road trip with a visit to Rindge, N.H. for a date with the Franklin Pierce Ravens on Saturday afternoon.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
In the midst of an 11-game NE10 stretch, New Haven relies heavily on its starting five who are all averaging more than 30 minutes per game, with three of the five averaging in double figures and the five combined providing 86% of the total scoring (1,062-of-1,239 total points). Leading the team individually is senior transfer Ty Perry (Boston, Mass./Brighton) who is averaging 145.5 ppg, sixth best in the NE10. On his heals is graduate guard Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) and junior Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) at 14.7 and 12.5 ppg, respectively. Rounding out the starting five is Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial High School) and Majur Majak (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./) who average 9.2 and 8.0 ppg, respectively. Among the five, Majak leads the team and the NE10 with an impressive 65.9 percent (60-of-91) shooting from the field, while Lane is also among the best in the league at 52.4 percent (98-of-187). Majak is also the NE10's leading shot blocker with 56 stuffed attempts, which also ranks him third nationally in total blocks.
SCOUTING THE RAVENS
Winners of its last five games, Franklin Pierce is riding high as they look to avenge a loss earlier this season in West Haven. Overall for the season, the Ravens stand at 12-7 and 7-5 in the Northeast-10, which has them currently sixth in the league standings as the final month of the regular season looms ahead. For the year, the Ravens are outscoring their opponents by 4.8 ppg, with their 73.2 ppg average the fourth highest in the NE10. Individually, Mohamed Traore leads a trio of Ravens who average double digits in the scoring column with his 13.1 ppg average. One of four players to start every game, Traore is also second with 59 assists and leads the team with 22 steals. Rounding out the leading scorers is Brandon Kolek and Sean Bresnan who average 12.1 and 11.5 ppg, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY vs THE RAVENS
·        New Haven and Franklin Pierce meet for the 51ST time in the history of the two programs.
·        With the Chargers win earlier this season, the all-time series is knotted at 25 wins apiece.

EARLIER THIS SEASON VS THE RAVENS
Despite a 54-54 draw late in the game, the Chargers went on to outscore Franklin Pierce 13-2 in the final three minutes of the game to guarantee the NE10 victory over the Raves, 67-56. For the game, four of the Chargers starting five finished in double figures, with all but two of the Chargers 67 points coming from their five starters. Leading the way in the scoring column was junior Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) who finished with 15 points, while senior Majur Majak (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./) completed a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five blocks. As a team, New Haven shot 42.4% (25-of-59) from the field, while holding the Ravens to just 32% (20-of-62), however, the Ravens held a 10-7 advantage in shooting from beyond the three point arc.
NEXT TIME OUT
After spending the last two games on the road, the Chargers will return to the friendly confines of Charger gymnasium for a three-game homestand, beginning with a visit from the Saint Rose Golden Knights. The Blue and Gold put a perfect 8-0 record on its home court on the line in the conference battle which is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start following the women's game.
