WHAT'S ON TAP
Riding a five-game win streak, the Chargers begin a series of three-straight games in the friendly confines of Charger Gymnasium, hosting the Saint Rose Golden Knights as they look to avenge a loss to Saint Rose earlier this season in Albany. Tip off from Charger Gym is set for 5:30 p.m.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
Looking to extend its longest win streak of the season, currently at five-straight, New Haven needs to continue to rely on a defense that is holding opponents to just 58.9 points per game, while keeping confidence in its shooting where it is currently 15th in NCAA Division II with its 45.6 percent from the field. Leading the way is Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) who is averaging 16.5 points per game, fifth in the NE10, including a career-high 30 points in the season opener against Georgian Court. Her co-captain Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) has both offense and defense on her mind as she is second on the team averaging 13.5 ppg, while one of two players in the NE10 who is averaging a double double as she is pulling down 10.1 rebounds per outing, second best in the NE10. In addition, Deshaies leads all NE10 players and is sixth in the nation with her 63% shooting percentage (109-of-172) with all of her points coming from inside the three-point arc. Rounding out the leading scorers for the Blue and Gold is senior point guard Kameryn King (Old Saybrook, Conn./Mercy) who is averaging 10.1 ppg, while leading the team with 85 assists, with her 5.0 assists per game average leading the conference.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE
Sitting in the middle of the pack in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, Saint Rose has struggled the last two weeks, going 1-4 in its last five games, including a 51-47 loss to Southern Connecticut on Monday night. In each of those last five games, the Golden Knights have been held below their average of 63.6 points per game, including three of those held to 50 points or less. For the season, Saint Rose is led by Makaela Johnson who is one of two Golden Knights averaging double figures with her 10.9 ppg average. She is also among the rebounding leaders with her 5.0 per game average, while dishing out 18 assists and picking off 15 steals. Isabel Sanchez follows her in the scoring column with 10.4 ppg, while Aniya McDonlad-Perry leads the Golden Knights on the boards with 7.9 per game, adding that to an average of 9.6 ppg.

SERIES HISTORY vs THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS

·         New Haven and Saint Rose meet for the 26th time in the history of the two programs on Wednesday night.

·         The Chargers hold a 15-10 record in the previous 25 games, having won five of the last eight against the Golden Knights.

·         Saint Rose's most successful part of the series came in the early years when they rattled off five straight, which included sweeping the home-and-home series in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

·         The Golden Knights took the first meeting between the two squads earlier this year with that win coming on the Golden Knights home court in Albany.

THE FIRST TIME VS SAINT ROSE
With all but two of its 62 points coming from the starting give, New Haven dropped its first game of the season in what was the first road game of the year for the Blue and Gold, 75-62 at Saint Rose. Leading the Blue and Gold with her third 20+ performance of the season was graduate guard Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) who closed out the night with 22 points. For the game, DeBose shot 8-of-19 from the field, including a team-best four three pointers. She also grabbed five boards and dished out one assist. Joining her in leading the Chargers was Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) who completed her fourth double double in as many games, closing out the night with 18 points and 14 rebounds. As a team, New Haven finished the game shooting 47 percent (24-of-51) with five of those buckets from outside the arc. They also added nine points at the free throw line, while once again outrebounding their opponent 36-29.

NEXT TIME OUT
The Chargers continue their longest homestand of the season when they welcome the American International Yellow Jackets this weekend for the second of three-straight on their home court. With this weekend's game also serving as the final weekend game in the regular season, prior to tipoff against the Yellow Jackets, New Haven will honor seven members of the team who will complete their eligibility following the season. Tipoff in the NE10 battle is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, with all of the action available live on the Charger Sports Network on NE10 NOW.
