THE LEAD
With the Northeast-10 Championship just days away, the New Haven men's basketball team has a lot on the line in its regular season finale tonight when they host Saint Anselm. The winner of tonight's game between the Chargers and Hawks will secure the third and final first round bye in the postseason tournament, while the other will begin its quest for a title on Friday night. Tipoff in the regular season finale against the Hawks is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with all of the action available on the Charger Sports Network on NE10 NOW.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
With its final game of the regular season on the docket this afternoon, New Haven relies heavily on its starting five who are all averaging more than 30 minutes per game, with three of the five averaging in double figures and the five combined providing 88% of the total scoring (1,461-of-1,704 total points). Leading the team individually is transfer guard Ty Perry (Boston, Mass./Brighton) who has scored 20+ in eight games including hitting a career-high of 24 on three occasions. For the season, Perry is averaging 15.2 ppg which is ninth most on the team. Following him in the scoring column is Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) who has scored in double figures in all but two games this season, averaging 14.6 ppg. In addition, Lane leads the team with 89 assists and 37 steals. Junior Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) rounds out the top three with a 12.7 ppg average, including leading the team from beyond the arc with 60 three pointers. Rounding out the starting five is Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial High School) and Majur Majak (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./) who average 9.4 and 7.2 ppg, respectively. Among the five, Majak leads the team and the NE10 with an impressive 60.8 percent (73-of-120) shooting from the field, while Lane is also among the best in the league at 52.0 percent (133-of-256). Majak is also the NE10's leading shot blocker with 71 stuffed attempts, which also ranks him fourth nationally in total blocks.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Coming off of a win over Saint Michael's in its final home game of the regular season, Saint Anselm has a lot riding on its regular season finale on Tuesday night with a first round bye in the NE10 championship on the line. For the season, the Hawks are averaging 76 points per game which is the second highest in the conference, however on the flip side they are surrendering 71.6 ppg which is fourth worst in the league. Individually, the Hawks starting five are all averaging 9.1 ppg or more with Tyler Arbuckle leading all scorers with his 17.9 ppg average which is the second highest in the NE10. One of the biggest threats the Hawks provide is an outside shooting barrage where their 241 three pointers is currently second in the conference and they lead all NE10 teams with their .406 average from long range. The Hawks top three scorers are their biggest three point threats with Arbuckle second on the team with 51 three's.
