PUEBLO, Colorado. – After claiming the gold and being crowned the Northeast 10 Conference 110m Hurdle Champion, University of New Haven Men's Track and Field hurdler Jordany Dely (Spring Valley, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) qualified for the NCAA Division 2 Championships where he would compete against the country's best in Colorado.
After running a winning and qualifying time of 14.01 at the NE10 Championships Dely made the trip to Pueblo where he would compete at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl for the Championships. Following his week of training and the Thunderbowl showing why it got its name as the meet was delayed due to lightning from a thunderstorm, Dely took to the track to compete on Friday night.
After the delay, Dely took to the track in the second heat where he would finish with a time of 14.04 finishing fifth in his heat and overall placing 14th overall with his time of 14.04.
New Haven Track and Field having sent athletes to back-to-back NCAAs for the outdoor seasons, now returns back home and looks to build off this experience as Dely looks to lead the Chargers into next season following his success and the program's success of the past season. As the teams say goodbye to their graduating seniors, they look to rebuild and reload as they prepare for the 2023-24 seasons. All schedules, and news for the team will be available at Newhavenchargers.com.
